About Ms. Kathy Scarbalis

Kathleen Scarbalis, PA-C, is an experienced physician assistant practicing out of Fairfax, Virginia. She initially joined Virginia Pediatric Group in 1990. After years of military moves with her husband, she returned home and rejoined the team in 2021. 

Kathy was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, New York. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in chemistry and education from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, she received her physician assistant degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, followed by a Masters in PA Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. A practicing PA for over 40 years, Kathy worked most recently at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Pediatric Specialists of Virginia in Fairfax. 

In addition to providing excellent healthcare alongside physician teams in Virginia, Kathy continues her commitment to service through national and state organizations. She is an active leader with the Medical Society of Virginia, Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, and American Academy of Physician Assistants. 

In conjunction with her husband’s military service, Kathy is well-traveled and has cared for children in several states across America as well as in Germany, Belgium, and Korea and provided primary care in military clinics. With her husband, Kathy continues to enjoy travel, especially to Washington state, home of their two adult children.
