Woldegabriel Baynesagn, M.D., F.A.A.P., is a board-certified pediatrician on the team at Virginia Pediatric Group. Dr. Baynesagn sees patients from the practice’s locations in Herndon, Fairfax, and Great Falls, Virginia. 

Dr. Baynesagn, better known to his patients as Dr. Gabriel was born and raised in Tigray, Ethiopia. He earned his medical degree and completed his pediatric residency at the Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia in 1994. 

For over a decade, he gained international experience as a pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Armed Forces Hospital in Addis Ababa. He ultimately completed another pediatric residency at the New York Methodist Hospital in New York City in 2011. He is board certified by The American Board of Pediatrics. 

Prior to joining Virginia Pediatric Group in 2017, he worked as a pediatrician and hospitalist in Wisconsin and Illinois for several years. He is fluent in English, Amharic, and Tigrigna. His special areas of interest include preventive medicine, immunizations, and nutrition. He is accepting new patients.

He resides in Alexandria with his wife, daughter, and two sons. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, walking, reading, and music.
