Are you interested in getting your child tested for COVID-19, but concerned about having to wait in line with others that may be sick? Here at Virginia Pediatric Group, we understand your concerns and want to keep all of our patients safe and healthy during this pandemic. This is why we offer curbside COVID-19 testing for children and teens. This means that your little one can get the testing they need without having to get out of the car.
Know Before You Go
Before getting your child tested at our office, there are a few things you should know first. Before coming to your appointment, we need to pre-screen all of our patients. Please fill out our prescreening questionnaire prior to your child’s visit. The information from this questionnaire will help us determine the ideal time slot and the best location for your child’s appointment. At this time, we offer both curbside and an outside tented clinic for COVID-19 testing.
Here at our practice, we offer COVID-19 testing via nasal swab, which typically provides us with results within 2-4 days. While the testing is quick it can be a bit uncomfortable, so bring your child’s favorite toy or play their favorite music to distract them. It only takes a minute to administer the nasal swab.
When you arrive at our practice, there will be someone to direct you. Please do not walk into the clinic. If you have questions, you can call the practice directly. Keep car windows closed until you’re told to open them. Once you’ve been checked in by one of our staff, you’ll wait for someone to come to the car to administer the test.
Wondering whether your child should be tested for COVID-19? You may wish to have them tested if they are experiencing symptoms of the infection or if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. If you are unsure whether your child should be tested, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
If you want to schedule curbside COVID-19 testing for your child, or if you don’t have access to transportation, call Virginia Pediatric Group at (703) 573-2432 to learn more about curbside testing and about other ways to get COVID-19 testing for your child.
