Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) encompasses the variety of healing systems that are not a routine part of training programs for physicians in the United States. These include traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, massage therapy, osteopathy, and nutrition therapies, as well as a number of therapies involving biological energy fields and spiritual healing.

We are supportive of our families' learning as much as possible and incorporating health promoting practices in their lifestyles. We look forward to sharing our insights and experiences with CAM and want to hear about your own. Our goal is to promote your child's health and try to balance care with our experience and insight. The diversity in CAM makes it difficult to incorporate or advise on all elements and concepts. The approach to health and disease by some disciplines of CAM may also conflict with our approach to medical care. We do support the judicious use of nutritional supplements, herbal, and homeopathic treatments that have proven safety and effectiveness for use in children.
