We understand many women may be apprehensive or unsure at first about breastfeeding vs. bottle-feeding their baby. It’s normal to have many questions related to breastfeeding. Our board-certified Lactation Consultant, Kelee Hays is here to help you.
After relocating to the East Coast and while taking some time off with her three children, she became a La Leche League leader offering assistance to breastfeeding families.
La Leche League was founded to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal help, to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. The mission of La Leche League is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
Kellee found working with new families very rewarding and chose to return to school and pursue a career as a lactation consultant and parenting educator. In 2011 she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has provided services at Metropolitan Breastfeeding and Sibley Memorial Hospital.
She enjoys teaching breastfeeding and newborn care classes and working with breastfeeding families to help them overcome challenges and provide encouragement and support. In her free time, she likes to spend time outdoors with her family.
